Canada - Broken Metro Ticket Machine and Passengers Leave Money Anyway

An act of profound honesty is that which recently occured in Canada. The ticket machine was broken, and as if it were the most normal thing in the world, travelers, before entering the subway left the cash equivalent of the ticket validation on the ticket machine. This news, which now is making the rounds on the web, was sent by an Italian, who has lived in Canada for 20 years. He wrote:

I am Italian but have lived in Canada for about 20 years. The honesty of my fellow Canadians never ceases to amaze me. In a Toronto Metro station, passengers found themselves in front of a broken machine with no controllers around.

This was the result: Citizens, including myself, paid for the ticket by leaving money unattended on the ticket machine before catching the train. All this and no one touched a penny.

If I hadn't seen such a thing with my own eyes, I would never have believed it.
