Scholarships for Muslim Students

..This organization seeks to help the most talented Muslim university students through scholarships. 12 other organizations of this kind, including two Christian and one Jewish, recieve funding from the German government, but Avicenna-Studienwerk will be the first such Muslim organization to be awarded public funding. This funding will begin at the start of the 2014-15 school year, and will continue for the following four years. The total cost is estimated to be around 7 million Euros, and undergraduate students awarded scholarships can receive up to 670 Euros a month, while for PhD students the budget is over 1,000 Euros plus extra cash for books. But for Avicenna-Studienwerk, good grades and belonging to the Muslim faith are not the only prerequisites for recieving a scholarship. Playing an active role in the community is also a fundamental requirement.
