SAUDI ARABIA - First Woman-run Legal Office Opens

The initiative is that of young Bayan Alzahran, who along with three companions, was the first Saudi woman to qualify to practice law. "Our business is not limited to cases involving women," explained Alzahran to al-Arabiya TV. "The legal system treats Saudi men and women equally, and an attorney has the right to represent people of both sexes. Our studio has already taken some cases involving both companies and individuals. Our initiative was made possible by the support of King Abdullah and we, as lawyers and as women of this country, constantly strive to make progress in what is good for Saudi women."
