From West to East: Obama and Rouhani Speak

President Barack Obama and new Iranian President Hassan Rouhani spoke by telephone on Friday, the highest-level contact between the two countries since 1979 and a sign that they are serious about reaching an agreement on Tehran's nuclear program.

Iran's foreign minister expressed the hope on Wednesday that a meeting with the five permanent U.N. Security Council members and Germany this week will kick-start negotiations to resolve the decade-long dispute over Tehran's nuclear program.
