Shopping & Generosity

The company MicroDON in France has introduced its first automated machine to allow supermarket shoppers do give a monetary contribution to various organizations as they go through the checkout. The system gives shoppers the possibility of asking for “the round” at the cash register. The difference is paid to large partner organizations to finance local solidarity actions near the point of sale, such as the Red Cross, and Secours Populaire. This is an example of inter-company solidarity that allows for the direct tranfer of funds to charity and non-profit organizations.
