CHINA - The Dalai Lama asks China to return to Tibet

Informal talks with Chinese officials to make pilgrimage; the Dalai Lama could set foot in Tibet.


The Tibetan spiritual leader has revealed to lead informal talks with China to accomplish an important pilgrimage in the autonomous region, after more than half a century of exile.


Tenzin Gyatso, the 14th Dalai Lama, has declared ​​clearly his desire to participate in a pilgrimage to a sacred mountain in his land during the contacts with officials of the Chinese Communist Party. It 's not decided yet,, but the idea is there, said the 79 year old Tibetan leader, in an interview with  France Presse in Dharamsala, a location in northern India, the seat of Tibetan in exile government from 1960.
